That's a wrap!

Wow! It's been a long time since I last blogged. For the most part, we've just been doing the routine, everyday life: kids to school, Billy to work, Kaigan to work once in a while, and me, well, I've just been trying to get settled in, organized and keep this crew fed and clothed.
The last week has been particularly hectic, yet exciting. We finally filmed the rest of our House Hunters International episode! I spend the week decorating and cleaning. My OCD went into hyper drive! But I'm pleased with how the house turned out, though I'm sure I'll be tweaking things and even still have a few boxes yet to unpack.
We filmed for 3 straight days. The crew consisted of John ("John 1" as the kids called him) who is the director, Jon ("Jon 2"), the cameraman, Grant, the sound man, and Kirsty ("Auntie K", who was a favorite because she came with snacks!), the Production Assistant. Meika was our realtor.  I can't really give any details other than to say it was a blast! We filmed without the kids on Friday and half of Saturday but half of Saturday and all day Sunday was a full family affair, shooting us basically just being a family. Though the kids were "over it" at times, for the most part, they seemed to be having fun and it gave them a unique opportunity to experience the workings of film production. Nani was particularly fascinated with the camera and Jon graciously allowed her to check it out. Perhaps we have a future filmmaker on our hands.
I do wish I could say more and perhaps after it airs I can, but for now you'll just have to wait with us until the episode airs in 3-4 months. Don't worry... I'll let you know when it'll be on, however, you can watch for previews on the HGTV website.
We're all pretty exhausted from the busy weekend and I'm quite happy to have my house back to relative normal. Today, between loads of the laundry that has been neglected for the last near week, I'm soaking up some sunshine that will become more and more evasive as winter here approaches. Autumn and winter in Taranaki (the region in which we live) is known for being extremely rainy! So plan your visits for our summer months!!!
